JE Menace: Pradeep Majhi threatens Fast-unto-Death

Former Nabarangpur MP and Congress leader Pradeep Majhi on Thursday announced to stage dharna and observe fast-unto-death from December 21 over fulfillment of his demands.

Majhi has demanded for starting of JE vaccination in Malkangiri district, filling up of vacant doctor posts in Malkangiri area and Rs 12 lakh compensation for the family members of the deceased who died due to the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Malkangiri district.

Notably, the death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis mounted to 118 on Thursday. In this connection the State government has decided to vaccinate 26 lakh children across Malkangiri, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts in December this year.
