Odisha CM launches Special Development Council in 9 Tribal Dists

ONI Bureau:  In a first in the Country, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched Special Development Council in tribal dominated districts across the State.

The Special Development Council will be launched in all the 9 tribal dominated districts including Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Nabarangapur districts with total 112 blocks. Each block will get Rs 1.5 cr annual assistance.

Announcing it at a special occasion in Utkal Mandap, Bhubaneswar, Naveen said these councils will take up cultural, educational and economic development in harmony with the unique identity of the people.
