Odisha: Panda Infra barred from Jatani Flyover construction

ONI Bureau:  Following allegations of poor quality work being carried out by Panda Infra projects Pvt Ltd in construction of Jatani Flyover Bridge, the Odisha Works Department has disengaged the company from Jatani flyover projects with immediate effect.

Reportedly, a fresh tender will be floated within a month for completion of the project. The government also plans to scrap the firm’s contracts of ongoing flyover project in Sambalpur.

Worth mentioning, Panda Infra Projects owner Pratap Panda was arrested on charges in September last year when a portion of the Bomikhal over bridge caved in that killed a businessman and injuring many including his five-year-old daughter.

Again in on May 3 this year, Panda Infra Limited had been disengaged from the Bomikhal project after a construction worker died when the flyover’s retention wall collapsed.
