“The aim is to not only to retain the loyal patrons attached with the brand, but also winning new young customer groups aspiring for a Mercedes-Benz,” the company said while announcing its growth strategy for the year. The company will also supplement its network expansion during the year with another 15 outlets in mature, as well as, tier II and III cities.
The company added that it will continue its invest in gearing up additional capacity at its Chakan Plant, taking the total investment made by the company to over Rs.1,000 crore. Recently, the company’s extended facility at the plant secured the necessary clearances for operations and will begin production by June of 2015. “With this expansion, the plant will now have a capacity of 20,000 units per year, the largest for any luxury car manufacturer,” the company said.
