Modi Government means Business, shows World Bank Data

India made significant progress in the areas of doing business, thanks effective steps undertaken by the Modi Government. The latest World Bank report confirmed this. Here are the key takeaways from the report:

* India climbed 12 places in the “Ease of Doing Business” rankings (2016) to be placed at 130th out of 189 countries.

* Last year, India ranked 142 on the list. However, later, it was unofficially revised to 134 based on a new methodology.

* India has made rapid progress in the “days to start a business” moving from a ranking of 127 in 2014 to 29 this year.

* In the area of providing power to businesses, India’s ranking improved from 99 in 2015 to 70 in 2016.
