Facebook Debate on Tathagata Satpathy’s Editorial on Mahanadi

Is BJD MP Tathagata Satpathy’s outburst on Mahanadi row in his editorial to be seen as a sane voice within BJD? Or, is it linked to his commercial interests? Can he be trusted as a Politician or Thinker?

Akshay Rout: Nobody can guess about his intention. However, what is pictured as outburst may be spontaneous and brutal truth. Even government does not have legitimate parents. I mean people’s representatives.

Deepak Kumar Prusty: It has two sides. First it is needed to check whether he has written as a journo or as a politician.. As a journo he has fulfilled his responsibility…As a seasoned politician, he has hit Naveenji under the belt to get sympathy from third party…

Bhawani Mahapatra: BJD is heading towards split, and no doubt leaders Tathagata, Jay Panda, are leading the dissidents. The self-designed “equi-distance” policy of NaPa is responsible for the mess visible in future. There are many MPs in BJD, who deserve to be a cabinet minister, but for NaPa only, it’s not happening.

Charulata Panigrahi: Politicians can never be trusted. Whatever they say, it is for their own interest. But, here I appreciate Sri Satpathy. He has courage to speak the truth.

Raghunath Panda: As a citizen, he is right to comment as Mahanadi is life line of Odisha. As a human being, he has a duty to look after the people’s interest. As a peoples representative, one is supposed to look after the welfare of the Area, Dist & State’s interest. It is big ?????? He is yet to speak on Polavaram.

Pravakar Pani: What Mr Satpathy has told about river Mahanadi, is a very judicious fact. The government should use the available water resources to an optimum level both for irrigation & electricity generation.

Gyanranjan Samal: Tathagata Satpathy just demonstrated the undercurrent within the BJD. But, more often he remains inconsistent and vague. The message is loud & clear for BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik that all is not well within the party, though he remains the unchallenged leader in BJD & Odisha. Tathagata still remains a politician and his possible leanings towards BJP won’t yield any fruitful results for the state.

Bijoy Rout: It is the comment as an Editor. I think he is right. A question arise here. Let the BJD leaders to answer whether Tathagata Satpathy said anything wrong. And, whether they prefer their political party than the interest of Odisha.
