Indian Tabla Player Sandeep Das with Yo-Yo Ma wins Grammy

Indian tabla player Sandeep Das collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma won the Grammy in the World Music category for the Album “Sing Me Home” at the 59th annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The category also included Sitarist Anoushka Shankar’s ‘Land of Gold’.

‘Sing Me Home’ was released to accompany a documentary on Yo-Yo Ma’s project “The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and The Silk Road Ensemble”.

Meantime, Adele won the top three Grammy awards with all five Grammys for which she was nominated.

Three time Grammy-nominated, Sandeep Das is considered one of the leading Tabla players in the world who is working with the legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma and The Silk Road Ensemble and String quartets.
