Director of Industries inaugurates Seminar on B2B Meeting in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 12: On the fourth day of MSME Trade Fair 2016, a vendor development seminar and B2B meeting was inaugurated by N. Palai, Director of Industries, Odisha. He emphasised on the need of a platform to encourage the MSME vendors to register themselves with the mother companies.

The PSUs are required to mention about their needs and requirements on an open platform accessible to MSMEs. The small scale industries have to register with the mother companies and they would be selected on the basis of supply of raw materials, products/service, cost and timely fulfilment of the said job. This is to ensure a healthy participation and competition amongst maximum MSMEs and boost them economically.

NTPC, MCL, NALCO, East Coast Railway, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) formed the 6 mother companies that participated in the seminar.

MCL elaborated about the feasibility of e-tender system that has been developed to equip and notify vendors about availability of latest projects and guide them throughout the tendering and bidding process online. This is also to ensure maximum vendor participation through regular online updates and notifications.

NTPC deliberated about the E-procurement portal they have developed where vendors can download tender list free of cost. They have to register themselves first post which, a user ID gets generated. This can used to download tender list free cost and apply according to their trade based requirements listed by the mother company.

Similarly, NALCO, IOCL, East Coast Railway and GRSE have upgraded their websites and all the information related to Tenders and e-bidding process is updated. Vendors who are not compatible with E-tendering and bidding process are also provided with manual forms that can be obtained at their head offices and branches.

To enable proper linkage between mother plant and MSME units, MSMEs were encouraged to use the digital media. To entertain fair and maximum participation of MSMEs, online forum is the best way for mother plants to disseminate the information about their requirements properly and comprehensively, said Palai.

C.K Gupta I/C MSME DI, Cuttack, B.K Das, Director Export, Promotion & Marketing, Odisha were also present at the seminar.
