It is quite fulfilling to witness the initiation of an eye care centre that aims at reaching out to people at the grass root level. OCL India Ltd. and L V Prasad Eye Institute have come together to render Sundargarh blind free by 2020. It’s overwhelming and heartening to be a part of this noble agenda exherted Dr. Kalam .
The eye care facility concentrates on enhancing the prevalent eye care services in the region and benefits the masses. The OCL Eye Care Centre marks the advent of much needed medical advancements in remote areas. The centre will actively pursue Research and Development which aims at comprehensively exploring several aspects of blindness, vision impairment in India and blindness prevention with a vision to make Sundargarh blind free by 2020.
The centre offers comprehensive eye examination consisting of a thorough evaluation of vision and ocular health. This includes refraction (an evaluation of the patient’s need for glasses or contact lenses), complete dilated eye examination and screening for common conditions such as dry eye, cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration and retinal diseases such as those associated with diabetes and high blood pressure.
