Importance of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in Contemporary Times

Cuttack, Aug 26: The Philosophy Department of Laxmi Narayan Sahu College of Jagatpur organized a lecture series on the topic of ‘Importance of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in Contemporary Times’ on Wednesday. Many eminent writes and professors attended the lecture series and put their thoughts over Shrimad Bhagwat Gita.

The lecture series was inaugurated by Sri Manoranjan Panigrahi, IRS Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Odisha Government, in the presence of Principal Dr. Purnamasi Sahu, who presided over the lecture series. On the occasion, Professor Prashant Kumar Biswal gave introduction of dignitary guests while Professor Sasmita Patnaik spoke about the lecture series.

Renowned writer Professor Adity Kumar Mohanty graced the occasion as chief speaker. Speaking on the occasion, Mohanty stressed upon the use of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita in the contemporary times. Dr. Subhasini Barik, Associate Professor, Philosophy Department of Delhi University graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Ranjan Kumar Sahoo. Among other dignitaries – Dr. Durga Madhab Praharaj and Dr. Ramchandra Majhi of  Ravenshaw University attended the programme.
