During these 5 days Camp volunteers will be trained on various programme and practices such as History of Red Cross Movement, Fundamental Principles, First Aid, Health & Hygiene, Road Safety and Leadership. Yoga, various competitions will also be organized during the camp to harness the literary potentiality of the Junior Red Cross volunteers. This camp will help the volunteers to build their capacity to render the humanitarian services to the most vulnerable people in the society.
Dr. S.C. Jamir, His Excellency, the Governor, Odisha & President, Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha State Branch graced the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the awareness progarmme on health, plantation programme, road safety and blood grouping camps carried out by the Junior Red Cross volunteers in different school of the state are praiseworthy.
Prof. Dr. Ashok Ku. Das, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University joined as Guest of Honor and emphatically said the Juniors that in order to become a leader one has to serve the down-trodden and the vulnerable people in the society. Dr. Laxmidhara Behera, Head Master, University High School also joined as Guest of Honour on this occasion
Dr Chakradhar Panda, Honorary Secretary, IRCS-OSB delivered the welcome address and said that Junior Red Cross can spread the spirit of oneness & the spirit of service to humanity in the society. The Programme was coordinated by Dr. Mrutyunjaya Rath, JRC Counsellor and the vote of thanks was offered by Sri Govinda Chandra Mahunta, Honorary Joint Secretary, IRCS-OSB. Besides, the Annual Report of JRC was also published by the Guests on this occasion.
