UAIL organises Blood Donation Camp in Rayagada

Rayagada, Sep 11: In line with the Company’s policy to serve the local community, Utkal Alumina International ltd.,a conglomerate of Aditya Birla Group of Companies, Doraguda in Rayagada district, organized a Blood Donation Camp in association with Red Cross Blood Bank and the District Headquarters Hospital, Rayagada at its CSR Campus. Mr. Vijay Sapra, Unit Head & President inaugurated the Camp. As many as 110 employees and their family members from Utkal Alumina came forward for this noble cause and donated blood enthusiastically.

While encouraging the donors, Mr. Sapra said that Utkal Alumina has been organizing blood donation camps at regular intervals and will continue to do so. He also said that there is no laboratory that manufactures blood. Hence, voluntary donation is the only way of accumulating blood to meet emergency requirements for saving lives of those who are in real need.  Senior Executives of the Company viz., Mr. N. Nagesh (Joint President), Mr. M. Ramesh Kumar (Sr. VP – HR, Admn. & CSR) and Mr. Raghunath Pratihari, VP (HR) attended the camp and appreciated the donors.

Dr.M. A. Majid, Blood Bank Officer, District Head Quarters Hospital with the Blood Bank team, in coordination with Dr.Tirupati Patnaik, Dr.Rajinder Mandal and Dr.Mayadhar Sahuof Utkal Alumina facilitated blood collection. The camp was organized by CSR team of Utkal Alumina led by Siba Mahapatra (AGM-CSR) under the overall guidance of Mr. M. Ramesh Kumar, Sr. VP (HR, Admn. & CSR). Appreciating the effort, Dr.Majid said that “Utkal Alumina always comes forward in donating blood which contributes in saving valuable lives of critical patients in the district”.
