ONI Bureau: The government on Wednesday extended the deadline for linking of Aadhaar with bank accounts to March 31, 2018 and for news accounts its six months from the date of commencement of account based relationship by the client.
Earlier the Centre had withdrawn the notification which stipulated that the linking needed to take place by December 31, 2017 but after considering various representations received and inputs received from Banks, it has been extended the deadline by three months.
The deadline to link the Aadhaar number with the PAN remains the same as mentioned before that is March 31, 2018.
