All citizens above 45 years will be eligible to get COVID19 vaccine from April 1. The decision was taken at the Union Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The move is set to add approximately 18 to 19 crore in the list of beneficiaries. The decision comes after several states in the country reported high levels of infected cases, hinting at a possible second wave.
The beneficiaries can avail the COVID19 vaccine for free of cost at any government hospital. Vaccine is also available at private facilities by paying Rs 250 per dosage.
