He was speaking at the ceremony in Dibrugarh where the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the BCPL plant to the nation. He said that the plant which has a capacity of producing 3 lakh tons of polymers per annum, will attract huge investments in of setting up of downstream industries.
Shri Ananth Kumar said the BVFCL plant will be revived in the next 3 years and, it will produce 8 lakh metric tons of Urea, fulfilling the requirements of the North-East Region. To meet the human resource requirements for the polymer industries, Shri Ananth Kumar said that the capacity of Guwahati, CIPET has been increased to 5 thousand per annum. The Minister announced that the campus of NIPER, Guwahati will be setup in next 3 years.
He expressed the hope that the initiative of the Government of India under the dynamic leadership of Shri Narendra Modiji will provide an enabling Eco-System for setting up new plastics industry in Assam.
