Indian Maid’s Hand chopped off in Saudi Arabia, Sushma seeks Action

A day after it came to light that a Saudi Arabia family chopped off an Indian maid’s hand, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has taken strong exception to the incident and condemned it in strong words. She has directed the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to take up the matter with the Saudi Foreign Office and sought strict action against the guilty.

“Chopping of hand of Indian lady – We are very much disturbed over the brutal manner in which Indian lady has been treated in Saudi Arabia,” she tweeted.

“This is unacceptable. We have taken this up with Saudi authorities. Our embassy is in touch with the victim,” she further tweeted.

The victim, identified as Kashturi Munirathinam from Tamil Nadu, is being treated at a hospital.
