Jolt to Somnath Bharti, Lipika rejects SC Mediation

In a massive jolt to former Delhi Law Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti, his wife Lipika Mitra has refused to accept any mediation by the Supreme Court to find an amicable resolution to their matrimonial dispute.

Lipika conveyed her decision to the apex court bench headed by Chief Justice HL Dattu. As a result, the Supreme Court disposed off Bharti’s plea for anticipatory bail and asked him to approach the trial court for a regular bail.

Bharti’s police custody ended yesterday and he was sent to one-day judicial custody.
