The death of two children from Dengue and the precarious conditions at Delhi hospitals, which were raised by the opposition parties as well as the media, forced Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to wake up from the deep slumber and visit the Hospitals in Delhi.

Kejriwal made a surprise visit to many hospitals today and decided to add 1,000 beds to the state-run hospitals at the earliest to fight the dengue menace. At least 10 people in Delhi have died so far due to dengue. Over 1,800 are affected by the disease.

Six-year-old Aman Sharma died on Sunday after being turned away by six hospitals, including the Safdarjung Hospital, which asked him to go home, saying he was fully fit. A week ago, a seven-year-old Avinash Raut died of dengue after being turned away by several hospital. His parents jumped off a building and committed suicide after failing to save the child.

The AAP Government in Delhi, which woke up to the danger yesterday, has cancelled the leaves of all Doctors and also called a meeting of all private hospitals.
