This is the first heliport built by state-owned Pawan Hans with an investment of Rs 100 crore.
The heliport has a terminal building having capacity of 150 passengers, four hangars with parking capacity of 16 helicopters and nine parking bays.
The heliport will be used for providing emergency medical services, services for disaster management and law and order surveillance.
The heliport will play an important role in promoting heli-tourism in India by providing helicopter services connecting remote & inaccessible Islands of Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep.
