SC slams Google, Microsoft, Yahoo for showing Sex-determination Ads

The Apex Court on Thursday directed internet giants Google , Yahoo and Microsoft to appoint internal expert bodies to remove offensive advertisements and content related to sex-determination tests barred by law.

The Court said the nodal agency of Centre should remain alert so that people know about it and can approach the body.

During the hearing of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a ban on foreign websites which are said to be asking couples to undergo sex determination tests, the Supreme Court has made the comments.
