Astaranga Murder Case: Local Residents ransack Tehsil Office

Astaranga, Sep 28: The local residents of Dinadia Nagar village have ransacked tehsil officer and damaged property, locked many government officers including block office demanding Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into murder of four family members.

They gherao police station and burnt tyres on road protesting against police. Expressing discontent over the tardy investigation in the matter by police, villagers on Monday went on rampage at various government offices. They also submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar demanding CBI probe.

Dinabandhu Mallick, a retired district inspector of schools, his wife and two daughters were murdered on September 21. Odisha Chief Minister asked Crime Branch to investigate the ghastly murder case.
