Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy Chargesheeted by CBI

The CBI has filed a chargesheet against senior BJD leader and Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy, who is in Jharpada jail in connection with AT Group link. The CBI chargesheet claimed that Pravat had taken Rs 42 lakh from AT Group chief Pradeep Sethy in return for the patronage.

The CBI also alleged that Pravat Tripathy had helped Artha Tatwa Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd to be registered under the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies in a very short period, which was quite unusual.

Pradeep Sethy was given ‘Best Youth Cooperator Award’ instituted by Odisha Cooperative Union during the tenure of Pravat Tripathy as its President. However, the chargesheet was silent how and when the money was given to Pravat Tripathy. Sethy had also financed Banki Mahotsav, which had the patronage of Pravat Tripathy.
