BJP accuses BJD of trying to sabotage Paradip Programme

Even as the Paradip Oil Refinery was dedicated to the nation yesterday and the much-publicised event passed off without any untoward incident at the venue, the blame game is not yet over. In a latest, the BJP has accused the ruling BJD of trying to sabotage the event with the help of Ministers and MLAs.

BJP claimed that Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das, Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debasis Samantray, Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Biswal and Niali MLA Pravat Mallick made all efforts to prevent the BJP workers from attending the meeting.

“They not only asked their supporters to tear down the entry passes allotted by the IOCL, but also vandalised the cars and other vehicles apart from blocking the people from proceeding towards Paradip,” the party alleged.

“Even though they tried their best, the BJP workers and fans of PM Narendra Modi still managed to reach the venue and extended full support to the dedication ceremony,” said BJP spokesperson Sajjan Sharma. “Even senior BJP leaders Rudra Narayan Pani, Pratap Sarangi and Rama Chandra Panda had a tough time to reach Paradip,” he further claimed.

Meanwhile, the BJD has rubbished the claims made by the BJP and said the party converted a government programme into party function and stooped to a new low to take undue mileage.
