BJP-BJD Spat On Mahanga Double Murder Case

Two days after BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate was murdered in the Mahanga double murder case, BJP and BJD continued to lock horns on the issue.

Kulamani Baral and his associate were brutally murdered on Saturday evening.

On the basis of complaint lodged by late leader Baral’s son, an FIR was filed against 12 persons. The FIR also mentions Law Minister Pratap Jena’s name for his alleged involvement in Mahanga double murder case.

BJP had been accusing the ruling BJD of political murder and compared it to the state of West Bengal.

However, Law Minister Pratap Jena rubbished the allegations and said the real culprits would be caught soon.

In a statement released by the party, its spokesperson Chinmay Sahoo said that the Odisha Government has ‘zero tolerance towards political violence.’

“Let the probe be over to know the exact reasons behind the murders. BJD has never tolerated any kind of political violence. In the Mahanga case also, the guilty will not be spared,” the statement read.
