BJP observes 12-hr Dhenkanal Bandh in Tarabha Firing Protest

The State BJP is observing a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh in Dhenkanal today protesting the murder of party worker Salman Rout who killed in the Tarabha firing in Sonepur district on Saturday.

Notably, Rout was shot dead Byomokesh Biswal who is serving as a police Constable. The incident took place after two groups clashed over putting up of posters for the upcoming panchayat polls.

Following the incident, Tarabha villagers torched the house of Biswal on Sunday.

While police have arrested Biswal and section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed in the village.
