Rayagada, Oct 9: A woman Maoist surrendered before Rayagada police on Thursday. She was an active member of Bansadhara Division of CPI-Maoist in the district. K Siva Subramani, Rayagada SP told media that the surrendered Sukumari alias Sharda Sabar was worked for the Naxal outfit during 2000 to 2012. Sukumari belong to Pataguda village under Padmapur police station jurisdiction in the district.
She was one of the closest aides of Sabyasachi Panda and the wife of Prahallad Sabar alias Ragada, the SP said. She also worked with Maoists leaders like Udaya and Azad. She was involved in many violent cases as a Maoist active member. The SP informed that she want to join the main stream by surrendering before police.
