Eminent Personalities join ‘Black Flag March’ of Bhasha Andolan on Day 6

Four eminent personalities from various fields joined the silent black flag March of Bhasha Andolan on Day 6. For the first time, the government became nervous and blocked the activists for 15 minutes to provide a smooth passage to CM Naveen Patnaik into the Secretariat.

Freedom Fighter Dolagovinda Pradhan, Flutist Mohini Mohan Patnaik, Columnist and Educationist Adhyapak Biswaranjan and Poet/Columnist Chakradhar Mahanta were the flag bearers of the protest march on Monday.

The march began at 5 PM outside the Assembly and culminated at Madhu Babu’s statue near Governor’s House square. The marchers were greeted by other members of Bhasha Andolan, including Pradyumna Satpathy, Tusharkanta Satpathy, Sagar Satpathy, Subrat Chhatoi, Madhumita Samal, Atis Mohanty etc.

Shri Pradyumna Satpathy addressed the members near Madhu Babu’s statue and vowed to continue the fight till the government listens and enforce the 1954 Odia Language Act with penal provisions. All members supported him and chanted ‘Vande Utkal Janani’.
