IITs, NITs and IISc pass-outs to teach in backward areas of Odisha

ONI Bureau:  The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has hired graduates from premier institutions like Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to fill vacant posts of about 1,225 assistant professors in 53 Government Engineering Colleges in 11 backwards States and Union Territory, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar informed on Wednesday.

Each of the faculty will be paid Rs 70,000 per month as the Union Government is spending of Rs 375 crore for the move.

The institutes for which the faculty has been selected include Assam, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Minister added.
