Mahanadi Row: BJD to stage Rail Roko across Odisha on Aug 3

The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has intensified its protests over the issue of construction of barrages by Chhattisgarh Government on Mahanadi River by deciding to hold ‘Rail Roko’ protests across the state on August 3.

The party will hold a relay strike in front of the Centra Water Commission (CWC) office in Bhubaneswar. All goods trains to Chhattisgarh will be stopped on that day.

The ‘Rail Roko’ agitation will last for 30 minutes. BJD has also rejected the all-party meeting convened by the Congress on this issue, saying both Congress and BJP have no freedom to take any decision related to Odisha, as they are controlled by their national leaders.
