The centres would be opened very soon. at least 70,000 quintals of paddy will be procured in the district during rabi, officials said.
Around 5,000 quintal of paddy will be procured at each mandi and an individual farmer will be allowed to sell a maximum of 100 quintals.
The farmers have been asked to bring fair average quality paddy to the Mandi,” said civil supplies officer, Koraput, Ballav Chandra Das.
“We will generate awareness about the procedure among the farmers at the mandis through banners, posters and distribution leaflets,” he said.
Money would be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the farmers after procuring paddy.
All immediate steps will be taken to ensure that the farmers do not have to face any difficulty.
