MBBS Student commits ‘Suicide’ at SUM Hospital Boy’s Hostel

In a shocking development, a 1st year MBBS Student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the Boy’s Hostel in SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar. The cops suspect that he committed ‘suicide’ by hanging himself from the ceiling fan. The deceased was studying at the Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital.

According to his batch-mates, he ended his life after being denied permission to appear in the semster examination because of low marks in internal paper. The student has been identified as Manish Dhal.

Angry medical students ransacked the hostel in protest against the suicide of the boy. They damaged the property and warned of further agitation. At least two platoons of police have been deployed in the medical campus to restore calm. The matter is being investigated. Senior police officials have already reached the spot.

Meanwhile, sine die has been declared at the Medical College following the incident to prevent escalation of protests. The SOA University has asked all students to vacate the hostel immediately.
