Due to the rise in temperature with severe humidity since last four days made life miserable in the coastal districts of Odisha.
The temperature would come down in coastal Odisha with the change of wind direction from the south-west from June 14 onwards with the advance of the monsoon.
Heat wave also continued in western part of Odisha. Bolangir registered the highest temperature at 42.5 degrees Celsius followed by Hirakud, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur.
Around 9 places in the State recorded as the highest temperature above 40 degree Celsius where as several parts of the State received rainfall during Sunday evening.
