More Servitors arrested for abusing Puri Collector during Niladri Bije

Odisha Police arrested one more servitor who were involved in misbehaving with the District Collector and attacking on media persons during the Niladri Bije ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri on July 17. The arrested servitor has been identified as Sanjay Khuntia of Bimanabadu Sahi in the town.

It is noted that, police has so far arrested eight servitors in this connection and sent to the judicial custody.

Earlier on Friday, two servitors Surya Narayan Pratihari and Rahgunath Khuntia were arrested by police.

Meanwhile, the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has suspended nine servitors from their duties.

However, police is on search for other servitors including the prime accused Damodar Mahasuara and his brother Jayakrushna Mahasuara. Police has sought permission from the local court to issue search warrant order against the absconding servitors.
