The senior citizens from ten southern districts of Odisha left for the Rameswaram and Madurai as part of the “Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana” sponsored by the government. The Pilgrimage trip was launched for the first time in Odisha.
All necessary arrangements have been made for the safe journey of the elderly citizens, said State’s Tourism Minister Ashok Panda.
He also stated that, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for the trip.
The Odisha Government will bear the entire tour expenditure of devotees including travel, accommodation and medical expenses.
