Notably, last week the state government had informed Orissa High Court that it would withdraw the appointment of contractual teachers those are appointed after June 11, 2015.
As per the decision of the state government, around 4,000 contractual teachers would be affected. The association members told media that 21,000 teachers have joined the protest and gherao all the offices of DEOs in the state.
They informed that the members of the association will gherao the resident of Chief Minister and School and Mass Education Minister on November 26.
Meanwhile, the court has set November 26 as the next date for hearing the case and also directed the School and Mass Education department to evaluate the steps over the appointment of contractual teachers.
