Odisha soon to set up National Diagnostic Centre

With a view to strengthen Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) as well as check infectious and non-infectious diseases across Odisha, the state government has decided to set up a branch of National Diagnostic Centre.

Earlier, Odisha Health department had sent a proposal to the Centre about setting up a unit of National Diagnostic Centre in the State.

On Tuesday, the National Diagnostic Centre’s Additional Director Dr SK Jain discussed about the proposed project with Odisha Health Secretary Pramod Kumar Meherdha.

According to the sources, around Rs 10 crore will be spent for the project and the land selection process will begin at the earliest possible time.

The Diagnostic Centre will help in enhancing public health officers’ potentials to address the health related issues across the state.
