PM Modi speaks about upcoming Hockey World Cup in Odisha @ Mann Ki Baat

ONI Bureau: Prime Minister Narendra Modi joins the Hockey Fever as he spoke about the upcoming Hockey World Cup in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme today.

Highlights from PM Modi’s Speech:

“India has a golden history in Hockey. In the past, not only India has got gold medals in many competitions, but has also won the World Cup once. India has produced many great players of Hockey.”

“Whenever Hockey is discussed in the world, the story of Hockey will remain incomplete without these great Indian players. The world is familiar with the great Major Dhyanchand. Players like Balwinder Singh Senior, Leslie Claudius, Mohammed Shahid, Udham Singh to Dhanraj Pillai have taken the game to new heights.”

“This year, India is honoured to host Men’s Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar. The World Cup would begin on 28th November and go on till 16th December. Every Indian, irrespective of whichever sport they play or prefer, they always have admiration towards Hockey.”
