The Minister said that the state government would provide insurance cover worth Rs. 1 lakh to journalists working in Odisha. He said that the tender process was under progress and a list of accredited journalists would be collected from various news and media houses.
As per the proposal, five members of a journalist’s family could get benefited from the scheme, he said. Answering a question over minimum qualification for journalists raised by MLA Dibya Sankar Mishra, the Minister said that the state had no such plants to set minimum qualification required for a journalist.
