Sabyasachi Panda clarifies, says never received funds from BJD

While the BJD has maintained a stoic silence since yesterday, Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda has come out in their defence, saying the party never transferred any funds to his bank account as alleged by former Union Minister Braja Kishore Tripathy.

“I have only one Bank account at Berhampur Jail, which is known to the jailor. The allegations of Rs 45 lakh fund transfer from BJD account to my account, are completely baseless. I don’t have any account at ICICI Bank, Chhatrapur”, he said.

Earlier, Braja Tripathy had levelled the allegations at a press meet in New Delhi and gave the details of BJD account as well as the ICICI Bank account, which is in the name of ‘Sabyasachi Panda’ at Chhatrapur bank. The transfer took place in April 2014 during assembly polls.
