WFP Executive Director calls on Odisha Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: The UN World Food Programme (WFP) Executive Director Ertharin Cousin called on Odisha Chief Minister at State Secretariat here on Wednesday. She arrived here on Tuesday, as part of her three-day visit to India.

She discussed with the Chief Minister over various welfare schemes being implemented by the state government.

During her visit to Odisha, Cousin met senior state government officials to focus on the collaboration between WFP and the state government to address food and nutrition security including through rice fortification initiatives.

Cousin also visited the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences where she addressed students on efforts by WFP to create the broad partnerships needed to achieve the new Global Goal of Zero Hunger by 2030.
