Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first. India posted 271/8 in 50 overs although they were cruising towards 300 at one state, thanks to 112-run opening stand by Rahane and Vijay. Rahane (63), Vijay (72), Rayudu (41), Tiwary (22) and Binny (25) were the top scorers. Neville Madziva took four wickets.
Chasing a victory target of 272, Zimbabwe tried hard, but could manage just 209 runs in 50 overs. Chibhabha was the top scorer at 72. Sean Williams (20), Mutumbami (32) and Cremer (27) were the top scorers. For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets.
