While the Pakistani cricket fans were left disappointed, people across India and Indians staying abroad celebrated this great victory. They were glued to the TV sets since this morning and watched every single moment without a miss.
India had posted 300/7 in 50 overs, thanks Virat Kohli (107), Shikhar Dhawan (73) and Suresh Raina (74). Sohail Khan took five wickets. Pakistan conceded just 27 runs in the last five overs to restrict India at just 300.
However, as the wicket became slow and low, the Indian seamers and spinners took full advantage of it, backed by some good work on the field. Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Despite skipper Misbah-ul-Haq’s valiant 76 off 84 balls, they bowled out for 224 in 47 overs and lost the match by 76 runs.
