Ayush Doctors protest in Bhubaneswar

Ayush Doctor AssociationThe Odisha Ayush Doctors’ Association has protested at Master Canteen Square on Monday demanding regularization for doctors appointed under the National Health Mission.

Around 500 Ayush doctors have participated in the protest at Master Canteen Square demanding regularization of their jobs.

Under the National Health Mission, 1,200 Ayush doctors have been appointed to various health centres in Odisha, to provide ayurvedic and homeopathic treatment to patients and to ease the work burden of allopathic doctors.

There Secretary of Odisha Ayush Doctors’s Association, Tapan Dash said that the Ayush doctors were being appointed to various health centres since 2007, and 500 of them completed six years of regular service, which is the basic criterion for regularlisation. The state government has not upgraded their services, Dash added, in a released issued by the association.

As per norms, employees need to be in service for at least six years after which they will be considered for regularization.
