World Vision distributes Medicated Mosquito Nets

World-VisionWorld Vision India, a leading international humanitarian organization in the state working for the well being of children and its communities in 54 slums of Bhubaneswar, has organized distribution of medicated mosquito nets to fight the mosquito menace in the slums in “Utkalamani Gopabnandhu Sabha Kakshya, near Jaydev Vihar in Bhubaneswar.

In the inaugural address, Mr. Golden Kumar Naik, Progamme Manager of World Vision India, narrated the purpose of the distribution of Long Lasting Insecticide Mosquito Nets (LLINs) LLINS. He welcomed the guests and addressed the jam packed gathering, saying “Our Vision for every child, life in all its fullness and our prayer for every heart the will to make it so” is the vision of World Vision. 2,500 poorest families of have been identified for this program.

Chief Guest MR. Priyadarshi Mishra, Honorable MLA of Bhubaneswar hailed the initiative of World Vision and encouraged the identified beneficiaries to use the LLINs for the protection from the diseases caused by mosquito menace and also narrated the activities of BMC for protection from mosquito nets. Chief Speaker Shri. Anant Narayan Jena – Honorable Mayor of BMC described the use of medicated mosquito nets and praised World Vision staff for addressing the needs of the economically poor slum dwellers. He also encouraged the people continue to use the medicated mosquito nets  and protect themselves from the malaria, dengue and other mosquito related diseases.

Mr. Mishra, Mr. Jena, and Mr. Naik, distributed mosquito nets to the beneficiaries. Mr. Manoj Mohanty presided the function; Mrs. Meetali Rani Patra of World Vision thanked the guests and all the representatives from Media. Mr. Anil Das, Mr. Chittaranjan Suna and Mr. Sudhir Kumar Swain assisted in the distribution.
