BSNL to increase Minimum Internet Speed to from 512 Kbps to 2 Mbps

Union Communications and Information Technology Minister of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad, has announced that state-owned BSNL will increase the minimum broadband Internet speed from 512 Kbps to 2 Mbps. While Mr. Prasad claims that BSNL has redefined itself under the Digital India program, it would interesting to see whether it becomes a ground reality or just remains on paper only.
