5 dead, 2 injured as Car overturns into Canal in Puri

ONI Bureau:  As many as five persons were killed while two others sustained grievous injuries near Sukal in Puri in the wee hours on Tuesday.

The mishap occurred when some passengers from Lalkamanga under Jarada police limits were on their way to Puri for immersion of ashes and to visit the Jagannath Temple. Reportedly, driver of the Bolero lost control and overturned into a canal.  The driver has absconded from the spot.

The deceased have been identified as K. Krishna (50), K.Yamabati (40), Jagadish (40),  Abnan (7) and Yamabati (5). Two injured were admitted to Chandanpur hospital for treatment.
