Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: The authorities of Jagannath Temple have decided to allow disabled persons in wheelchairs inside the temple premises for Darshan of Lord Jagannath.
As per their decision this will be effective from Thursday. However, there is not written rule over the allowing or disallowing wheelchairs inside the temple premises. For the first time, as many as 250 physically handicapped persons from Gujarat will be allowed inside the temple along with wheelchairs on Thursday.
The authorities informed that the team of 250 physically handicapped persons would enter into the temple through Uttar Dwar (North gate) and their wheelchairs would be kept at Kirtan Chakada and from there they would be taken to Nata Mandap.
As per reports, the authorities of the temple have prepared a ramp to allow wheelchairs into the temple premises. A proposal was put before the authorities to allow physically disabled person in wheelchairs into the temple, which was reportedly approved by the members of temple administration recently.
