Bezbaroa House won’t be demolished: Sambalpur Collector

Insight News Desk: Bowing to the public outrage and pressure from Assam Government, the Odisha Government has decided not to demolish the century-old house of Assamese poet and author Lakshminath Bezbaroa in Sampalpur.

The decision was conveyed by Sambalpur Collector Samarth Verma. Earlier, Assam CM Sarbanand Sonowal had a telephonic conversation with his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik and urged him to convert the house into a memorial. The Assam Culture Minister will soon visit Sambalpur with a request letter.
