BJD holds Preparatory Meeting over Jana Sampark Padayatra

BJD-PadayatraBhubaneswar, Sep 28: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) organized a preparatory meeting over its upcoming campaign Jana Sampark Padayatra at party head office here today. The meeting was attended by party supremo Naveen Patnaik and 121 party observers.

Presiding over the meeting, CM Naveen Patnaik appealed party members to make this event successful by putting all efforts. He directed party members to highlight the development initiatives are being taken by the BJD government and party’s commitment towards over the promises it made in the manifesto during the elections.

The Padayatra will start on Gandhi Jayanti on Oct 2 and will be concluded on Jayanti of Jayaprakash Narayan on 11 October. The 10-day campaign will start at district level; it will be organized at village or gram panchayat level and will be concluded at constituency level across Odisha.

During the campaignBJD, party members would highlight the apathetic approach of central government towards Odisha. In addition to this, they would also highlight cut in funds and closure of many welfare schemes by the NDA government at centre.

For successful conduct of the campaign, the party has appointed three state level observers and 33 district level observers. The district presidents, MLAs and prominent leaders have been entrusted to organize the 10-day Padayatra successfully.
