Congress Workers led by Pradeep Majhi clash with Police

Pradeep-OdishaCongress workers from undivided Koraput district (Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Koraput) held a massive demonstration at Lower PMG, protesting against the ‘faulty’ paddy procurement policy and rising farmers’ suicide. The cops tried to block them to rush near the Odisha Assembly, resulting in clashes.

Pradeep Majhi, Sadan Nayak and several other leaders and cadres were taken into custody by the police personnel. During the protests, PCC President Prasad Harichandan, former PCC President Jayadev Jena, MLA Chiranjeeb Biswal, Congress leader Suresh Routray and many others were present at the venue.

The police confirmed that they did not use force, but tried their best to prevent the Congress workers from breaking the barricade when the Assembly Session was going on. The Congress has decided to intensify their agitation further to nail the Naveen Patnaik led BJD Government.

Many farmers from undivided Koraput districts had also joined the demonstration held by the Congress Party.
